Cacahuetes is not just another subcultural, beer-based trio of frustrated cartoonists though it is, partly. The members of Cacahuetes independantly devoted their teen age in the worship of mass culture and its relationship with democracy. For this reason, they soon met at a tramway station in Nantes when 13 years old Brian Is Pop noticed the portable karaoke device carried by 15 years old Chobletster.
They soon created an artistic unit called "Arachide" with the open goal of appraising the theories of judgment, especially concerning aesthetics. After several years spent in the study of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics, the discovery of the logical works by Ludwig Wittgenstein (and especially the latest writings, i.e., "Camper pas cher en Rhone-Alpes"), re-oriented their research for the rest of their lives in a direction later termed by one of the author "The Lost Night (Dessiner dans le noir)".
The cartoon project "Cacahuetes" resulted from this new orientation.
